A Friend in Need

Our customers have come to rely on us to help them with their less usual needs. When a new consumer-volume machine was developed by our client, even though they were to be manufactured elsewhere our client came to us to perform the user testing. We set testers on to the job 24 hours a day for 3 weeks testing the machines until they broke, and helped our client make numerous modifications to their designs in order to make the machine more resilient. The client involved us again in retro-fitting an RF PCB (which we manufactured) to support the roll-out marketing effort. We were involved a third time when a batch of 7,000 machines was received with the wrong programmes. A lorry-load was returned to the manufacturer, who got it wrong again, so our client asked us to re-programme the entire batch urgently.

The AWS Network in Action

When our client wanted to develop a major new floor-standing machine, they called on AWS to support its design, prototyping and trials. We in turn brought in AWS Network partners to design and build the enclosure, and to contribute to the functional design of the unit. We contributed design for manufacture and test, reduction of obsolescence risk, production engineering and development of test routines. We also manufactured the prototypes and undertook much of their testing on site, before manufacturing the first batch of machines for trials and undertaking any modifications that arose as a result of those trials.
