When a company designing complex encryption boards and manufacturing complete related product used a major multinational competitor of ours to manufacture them, the competitor built them uncritically to print with the result that virtually every board needed substantial re-working by the client.

When they transferred production to AWS, we analysed the designs carefully and identified numerous flaws in their drawings, and some even in the designs themselves. We then worked with the design team to eliminate these errors and up-issue the drawings. All but one of the first batch of 25 boards passed their test, which so surprised our clients that they re-calibrated all their test equipment! Since then we have undertaken similar work to intruduce a number of further boards, and our client is looking to expand our scope of supply to cover full product assembly.

Cryptography has come a very long way since the first documented use of secret witing (steganogaphy) when in 480BC Xerxes concealed messages under the wax of a writing tablet.

Today we all use cryptographic systems transparently whenever we buy goods or services online or visit a cashpoint.
