AWS manufactures a range of safety critical equipment for the very demanding rail industry. Such equipment is subject to transients of up to 30g every time the vehicle goes over points, crossings or fishplated rail joints throughout the vehicle's 40-50 year life. Manufacturing standards are therefore exceedingly demanding, yet AWS has never yet had a rail assembly returned due to manufacturing quality issues.
